Telemos-backed MedEuropa buys CCO

MedEuropa, a portfolio company of Telemos Capital, has acquired France-based cancer treatment clinic Centre Catalan d'Oncologie (CCO).
The GP secured senior debt facilities from Ardian partially to finance this acquisition and with a committed acquisition facility to back future add-ons for MedEuropa.
MedEuropa was formed in 2017 by Telemos and focuses on cancer treatment, specialising in radiotherapy. It is based in Switzerland and also operates a treatment centre in Romania.
MedEuropa invested in Germany-based MVZ Gamma Knife in January 2019. The company consists of two radiotherapy centres in Krefeld and Hannover, and specialises in radiosurgery for the treatment of brain tumours.
In November 2019, Telemos-backed ophthalmology treatment business Sanoptis acquired AugenAllianz-Zentren as part of its buy-and-build strategy. The company also acquired eyecare clinic chain NordBlick in May 2019.
Telemos generally deploys €50-200m in equity per platform investment.
Company
CCO was founded in 2017. Headquartered in Perpignan, it treats 1,800 patients via radiotherapy through the operation of linear accelerators. The company also provides some chemotherapy treatment.
